Drop-in Sessions at Gallery 1710

The Guild offers drop-in sessions that afford a more casual learning environment for members and non-members. Saturday demos during shows provide a chance to meet and learn from some of our members. Life Drawing on Mondays has live models. And Share your Techniques on the 3rd Tuesday of each month means you can bring your arts supplies and join in.

Saturday Demos at Gallery 1710

October 4 – Kate Herring will demonstrate how she uses threads, wire, felting and found objects to “paint” her fibre art creations.

November 1 – Chris MacClure will explain how he begins his large acrylic paintings and share his experiences as owner of several art studios and galleries.

November 29 – Elayne Preston will show how to create layers in watercolour by using negative space painting.

Life Drawing Drop In

Join us Mondays from 9:15 am – 12:30 pm in the Gallery 1710 workroom. Sessions are ongoing and open to non-members. Registration isn’t required, but if you’re new to the group, please email one of the contacts to let them know you’ll be there. Contacts: Carolyn Carter – [email protected]
Jean Thompson – [email protected].

Please show up promptly so as not to disturb the models.
Per session fees: Members $15; Non-Members $18

Share Your Techniques

Drop in on the 3rd Tuesday of each month to the Gallery 1710 workroom. Each month a different topic is chosen, such as clouds, waves, perspective drawing, simple figures, matt cutting, etc., and a member does a short demo. After the demo, everyone tries it out. It’s like a mini workshop with friends!

Registration is not required. Just show up with your paints and tools.
Per session fees: Members Free; Non-Members $15
